six artists remix the rich sound material from sven kacireks lp >scarlet pitch dreams< (pingipung 32, april 2012). svens original percussion recordings and his densely layered melodies invite for a rework which fo- cuses on the single elements. robert lippok (to rococo rot, raster noton) turns the title track into a balearic sunshine dance until the voice and synthlines evoke a deep and driving witchhouse at- mosphere. absolutely awesome remix! opiate aka thomas knak from denmark (morr music) is one of pingipungs favourite artists in the world and we are very happy to have his remix included here. his highly individual syncopating beat works dive into the pool of svens percussions, with the snare and marimba always in the foreground.

futuristic-funk starchild jimmy edgar returns with the third single to be taken form his recent album >majenta< out earlier this year on hotflush. this time edgar shoves is free-spirited sexual appetite in your face, with a slice of stripped-down, upfront electro-funk complete with j.g. ballard-inspired lyrics of car-crash sexual fetishism. alongside the original album cut, two alternate takes are reworked by a pair of producers at the very top of their game: jon convex and john talabot. whilst talabot creates an eerie and downright epic re-imagining through his combination of amazonian electronics and volume manipulation, the convex cut enhances the dance floor potential of the original with bubbling, arpeggiated 303 bass.

having spent most of 2012 so far further establishing itself as a global bastion of forward thinking electronic dance music, the rwina label is changing things up a little with an ep from young dutch producer jameszoo.
on faaveelaa jameszoo displays the kind of brazen ingenuity that youth affords by drawing inspiration from dancehall before finding its edge to craft an entirely new take on the genre and using that to paint a colourful sonic picture of what he imagines a favela might look like. sounds mad? it is, in a good way. by his own admittance the picture he paints is also a bit messy, yet there is beauty in chaos. as for the inspiration, it can sometimes be hard to hear at first though anyone familiar with jamaicas dancehall tradition will recognise the instantly catchy quality of faaveelaas riddims.

calis pacific horizons return with their most club friendly 12 inch to date. club meds is a funky slice of balearic punk inspired by their years in san fran dancing to early breakbeats. fata morgana is an industrial dance inspired cut with a solid club feel. stunning.

preceding a full length album on 4lux, ka§par showcases his amazing talents on this second ep for 4lux. the portuguese producer comes with some of the most interesting dance music around. got good love is a tough deep house groover that comes as both original and with a nicholas remix. cruising andromeda is a futuristic techno tune for forward thinking deejays. on hyphen kaspar slows down the pace and tosses in some 707 action: a crazy ride with rough synths and spaced out effects. ka§pars releases have become rare and sought after, releasing little more than one 12inch a year in the recent past when one listens to the result, it only proves how great things take their time.

2 slamming tracks by label heads silent servant and santiago salazar with that classic historia y violencia formula! side a >mi alma< is a throbbing beast of a track with silent servants signature feedback sound underlying it all. while the drums pulsate along the track, the main synth modulates throughout working the dance floor to a techno frenzy. side b >corazon< is the perfect contrast! taking notes from the 313, salazar builds this track with vibes and strings to a uplifting detroit vibe that is his signature sound.

after his great debut single >wonderland< on deep circus, we are very happy to present florian gasperini >the crypt ep< on our imprint. florians productions are always very functional on the dance floor. with >the crypt< he underlines this again and presents us a dark but also very groovy tech house bomb. the release includes a great remix by patrick kunkel, which keeps the groove from the original, but without the dark atmosphere. the b-site track >alaska< is a beautiful house track, nice fit for the last summer nights.

butane continues to push his sound well beyond the frontiers of trendy dance music with >we are all cyborgs now<, his latest tour-de-force on his own alphahouse records imprint. apparently not interested in assimilation for the sake of popularity, he rather blazes his own wide-cut path towards artistry with two future-techno cuts rife with pointed commentary on the nature of todays dance music scene. >everybodys talkin< is a mutant hybrid of styles for the nostalgic types. latin percussion and bin-busting bass mingle with an ethereal voice lamenting the passing of the good old days. throw in one utterly twisted xylophone note that might just send a few partygoers over the edge for good, and you have an open air after-hours anthem in the making. >hey hipster< is a not-so-subtle jab at the newjack hipsters of the dance world who seem content to recycle old ideas, as long as they think they look cool doing it. deceptively simple, but carrying a heavy hook, the track features a grooving bassline, speaker busting synth stabs, and a brooding male voice admonishing these party parasites for their shallow ways. listen up kids, this is the sound of the underground. dont be fooled, this kind of music is best heard in big dark clubs where mirrors arent there for checking out your trendy haircut.

luv005 already and no doubt another classy four tracker that will top a few sales charts in the coming weeks and months. it has been a wonderful summer for the luv shack crew with every release bettering the last. the response and reaction to the new label has been astounding and beyond a pleasant surprise. with intelligent dance music such as this, it really shouldnt be such a surprise, but in a world of mass mediocre music, it does happen more often than not, that the good stuff doesnt always find its way. the guys though have found a place in a lot of hearts and quite a few tasty dj sets and record boxes with four very consistent releases. so, here we go with what is yet another worthy addition to any half decent djs repertoire me thinks. and it is lee stevens who teams up with local friends to deliver a very crafted set of aural niceness for your distinguished pleasure.

studio bounces between deep techno and tech-house, taking us into a world of slight movement, resembling some of the typical detroit sound elements. fanon flowers adds the american touch, adding more power and energy to the modulation pads. >analogic swing< by pelacha is a dryer composition, driven by a constant string, pure dance-floor techno.
